Initial and annual site audit

Our health and safety consultants will carry out a thorough initial site audit of your main premises and organisation, assessing your current approach to health and safety against legal requirements and best industry practice.

Our audit will look at how you manage health and safety across your business, its on site activities, the tasks your employees carry out, any plant and equipment that’s used and the interaction with contractors.

We will identify potential improvements and help you deliver a plan to achieve them to ensure you’re compliant in an easy to understand report and recommendations for improvements if necessary.

We’ll then review it on an annual basis, giving you peace of mind that you’re following the latest procedures.

 

Accident Investigations

Employers are required to record all accidents that happen within their workplace or to their employees working in other premises. In most cases, an accident report form is sufficient, however Social Security Regulations also require employers to maintain an accident book.

Primed, our online system includes an accident report form which will allow you to capture all relevant information and enable you to start an investigation. In the event of any investigations carried out by either the HSE or local authority, we will provide support up to a cost of £2,500 where you have followed our advice. We’ll also provide advice, support and guidance on a maximum of 3 RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) reportable accident investigations within a 12 month period.

Health & Safety Policy

If you have five or more employees, it’s a legal requirement to have a written health & safety policy in place which sets out your approach, who does what, where and when.

We can provide you with the compliant documents to enable you to meet your legal obligations and as part of our Premium service, will review your current process and policies and either update your existing or implement a new management system, depending on your needs.

Risk Assessments

As an employer, you must make a ‘suitable and sufficient assessment’ of risks to your employees’ health and safety, and risks to others not in your employment that are created because of your work.

Fire Safety

Reviewing your fire risk assessment regularly is a must, but the law, standards, codes of practice and guidance relating to fire safety are extensive and sometimes confusing.

We’ll support you with guidance relating to fire risk assessment and fire procedures and provide you with the templates of the required record keeping forms.

Asbestos management

Before you start any work in a building that might contain asbestos (e.g. built or refurbished before the year 2000), you need to take steps to identify and manage any asbestos containing materials that may be present.

Our team of experts are on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have. If asbestos is found in your premises you’ll need to prepare an asbestos management plan which we’ll provide a template and guidance for. We can also provide a UKATA Certified course to train any workers liable to disturb asbestos during their day-to-day role.

Employers must provide health and safety training and information for DSE users to protect your workforce from potential health risks.
